(My first post about rampant homelessness in Seattle, specifically in the U-District, where I work)
You see this photo? Take a long look. That is a person, not a sack of garbage or whatever. Sleeping on the doorstep of a church in the U-District. I walk by this spot every day on the way to my job. More often than not, there is someone sleeping here.
This shit (pardon my language) is unacceptable. Absolutely fucking unacceptable. I refuse to let this go on. I’m volunteering with a shelter in this neighborhood starting next week. Only because I can’t afford to quit my job and do it full-time.
